Contracted project for Moey, Inc.: Thatcher State Park Visitor Center in Upstate New York, as seen here

For this project, I was commissioned to detail and sculpt several areas of the visitor center.

This included sculpting the outer shell of a realistic karst-topography style model using epoxy resin and wood, using reference photos of the area to create an enjoyable, life-like, and educational model, which was then outfitted with graphics within sliding drawers, showing the inner parts of the lime cave.

I also constructed and co-sculpted a large-scale, interactive facsimile limestone cave from cement. This is meant for children and their families to enter, with sound effects and visuals showing the bat habitats and texture of the caves surrounding the visitor center.

The following finished and process shots show the visitor center with the model, and then the cave and the model in progress (also seen finished here).

Miniature Floating Cities

Another commission for Moey, Inc., I constructed, sourced materials for, and partially designed floating cities for an exhibition on miniatures and the concept of “Utopia”.
